Twenty years of fixes

Twenty years of fixes

Everything, roughly in this order:

  • 1990s: low fat. Fat-free biscuits, full of sugar.
  • 2000s: low carb, round one.
  • 2010s: juice cleanses, then skinny tea.
  • Late 2010s: keto, low carb round two.
  • Early 2020s: collagen. Then bone broth.
  • Now: protein, in everything.
  • Next: fibre... You can already see it coming.

Each one was replaced by the next before anyone checked whether it worked.

The cycle used to take a decade. Now it's about two years.

The fix keeps changing. The problem doesn't.

One problem at a time

The trouble is every fix was aimed at one problem. Weight. Energy. Skin. Sleep.

A shelf of single-issue solutions for a body that has never once had a single issue.

It's what happens when advice arrives one symptom at a time, usually from someone with the next symptom's product ready to go.

What we're doing instead

So here's what we're doing instead, out loud. One thing at a time, and one question:

Does it earn a daily place?

Does it do something real?

What does it cost somewhere else?

Would we happily do it for twenty years?

Most things fail. That's useful too.

Including ours

We sell green tea, so read this with the right amount of suspicion.

It passed: real, modest effects on metabolism, focus and inflammation, no notable trade-offs, cheap to repeat.

It won't undo twenty years.

Nothing in a box will.

It's one part of a foundation, next to sleep, movement, real food and water.

The goal isn't another fix

It's a short list of boring things that look after the whole lot, so the next twenty years run stronger and steadier than the last.
